Sandra Loy, director of the Alliance Neighborhood Center, will be the
featured speaker at the Continued Learning Program session at 10 a.m.
on Tuesday, February 5 in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus
Center on the University of Mount Union’s campus.
Loy will speak about the multiple programs, facilities and activities
available at the Alliance Neighborhood Center that community members
may not know about.
Loy graduated from Alliance High School and received an associate
degree in accounting from Bohecker’s Business College. Accredited as a
certified professional coder, she has taught at the Alliance Career
Center and Portage Lakes Career Center before moving to South Carolina
to teach at York Technical College.
After returning to Alliance in 2006, Loy faced challenges as a single
mother, which helps her relate to her clients at the Alliance
Neighborhood Center.
The Neighborhood Center houses is a "one stop" delivery system for a host of community services for those in need.
Those attending the Continued Learning Program session are welcome to
stay for lunch in the Kresge Dining Commons ($6.60) or B&B Café (a
la carte) following the session.
The Continued Learning Program sessions are free and open to the
public. They include a variety of presentations and current
perspectives, as well as time for questions and discussion.
